The Sounder has published a set of Q+As sent to the six candidates running for election as trustees of the Gabriola Fire Protection Improvement District (GFPID). Three positions are open.
The six questions asked:
- What makes you an ideal candidate to be a Fire Board Trustee?
- What changes – if any – would you want to make to the current 10-year long-range plan?
- Are there any recommendations from the Brownlee and Governance reviews you think should be implemented by the Fire Board?
- What can local governments like Improvement Districts do to work towards the goals and recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Report?
- Should Fire Trustee elections have advance-voting options available?
- Any other statement you want to make with respect to this election and the GFPID?
